It is well known among sailors in all the continents, it has a good reputation among parliamentarians, diplomats and mariners, it is a festival involving an entire city and year after year it goes on attracting over 3 million visitors to Kiel. It's the Kieler Woche, the greatest sailing sporting event in the world and at the same time the biggest summer festival in northern Europe.
